Field Notes

Description:

Larger sized orbweaver spider. Abdomen pattern with a mint (lichen) green and tan with zig-zag dark lines. Legs and thorax are tan, black and gray. This particular spider seemed incapacitated, perhaps by a wasp that had left it's prey behind. I am not sure.

Habitat:

Temperate forest. Rockwood Park, Virginia. Found on a wooden bench along the trail.
