Description:

The giant clam is the largest living mollusc and also one of the most endangered clam species in the world. Like many other coral reef species it is very popular in the aquaria trade and is harvested in great numbers. T.gigas gets its colour from the symbiotic zooxanthellae it harvests in its mantle tissue.

Notes:

This first picture is a close up of mantle, the second picture shows the whole clam.
