Description:

Snow-white, Broad-Nosed Weevil, 6 mm long. Family Curculionidae.

Habitat:

Heavy shrubbery along the highway between San Cristobal de Las Casas and Tuxtla Gutierrez, km 11.5, 865 meters.

Thank you doodle list, I think you are right about the genus. Ophryastes desertus is not reported from this part of Mexico which is tropical (although it can be very dry in the dry season). I will keep following your lead and search more about this species. Thank you so much.
