Field Notes

Description:

Beetle-like insect with small white protrusions on its posterior surface where its dorsal and ventral surface meet. It would raise its back legs up (the pair) when I approached closely with a camera.

Habitat:

They were eating the leaves on an American hazelnut shrub.
