Field Notes

Description:

Small, around 2 lbs, mustelid with yellowish chest and brown face and back.

Habitat:

In a hole-in-the-ground den in a clearing in the woods, temperate rain forest.

Notes:

This is the only time I've ever seen one of these hold still long enough for a picture; I'm guessing it was a female who was guarding her den.
