Field Notes

Description:

Sap sucking insect. Few mm. Green color, long dark legs. Feeds on herbs and legumes. They are also farmed by ants, as honeydews.
The only animal species able to synthesize carotenes.

Habitat:

Grasslands, crops, gardens.
