Field Notes

Description:

A fairly solid caterpillar about 35mm long; looper type? four rear prolegs; plain pale tan colouring with some banded textures.

Habitat:

Exploring the leaves of 'Bear's breeches' (Acanthus mollis) in suburban back yard... not sure if it was eating the stuff though.

Notes:

This species should be feeding on Eucalyptus... ?? And martinl found one on acacia http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/8299696
