Description:

This is the May Fly changing its exo-skeleton before and after

Habitat:

Meadows on the Upper Plateau, woodlands and our stairwell.

Notes:

Small things. There are over 200 species estimated in Madagascar. The second picture is before the moult.

I use the stairs often :). I checked and there are over 200 species estimated on the Island. There is record of a really large one discovered back in the 1830's. A lot of research has been done on them here in Madagascar.

Hah, yeah, they can take a while to moult! But it's really cool that you captured the moment afterwards, I think that's awesome :)

This is a mayfly! I would guess that the thing under it is an old exoskeleton it's just crawled out of, since I know males and females look pretty similar. I'm not sure on exactly which mayfly this is, but you could have a look around for what species you get in your area! Great photo :)
