Wow! I looked after some Pyschotria species at Kew but none of them did anything like this during the three months I was with them. Some species of this genus are used in the preparation of the pyscho-active brew Ayahuasca, used in shamanic rituals and medicinally: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ayahuasca
