This thing was hanging upside down from six legs it resembles the grey rhino looking aphids that we have a lot of this summer but ...minus the extra six legs

It's very blurry but based on your other post, I think what you have here is another Wheel Bug just as it's molting (it's tail end is still in the old "skin"; you can really see it in pick 3). Like this one: http://bugguide.net/node/view/549971/bgimage
