Thanks! This is the first really green skink I've ever seen.
Very nice green colour! We only have the bronze coloured one in Singapore!
It's surprising, right? This is especially shocking since most first words of a Filipino kid include "butiki" the vernacular for lizard. Yes Cherrey, they crawl (the house lizards, i mean) on walls and ceiling in almost all Filipino homes. And remember when they forbid us to open our umbrella inside our house because these lizards might fall on to our umbrella? It's true, they actually do! I guess they just crawl on whatever surface that's available.
Do you guys have house lizards? we always have them in our home like A LOT. Maybe you can count 3-10 on our ceiling..
Really, you're scared of lizards alice and nath?
Hi Cherry, Maybe you're talking about the Gekkonidae and not the Scincidae. But yeah, I'm scared of lizards (in any form).
i've seen that kind often in our Narra tree or Guyabano tree, right outside our porch.. As a kid, I was always told they stick to the skin and would be very hard to remove yay.. i wasn't too sure if that was true though
alice and nath, thanks a lot! Great ID! I thought this was an immature skink but I looked at other images of this skink and this is what they look like mature. Really cool! Thanks Christiane!
I have never seen a EMERALD COLORED SKINK.. Great SHOT!!
This type of emerald skink is endemic to the Philippines.
