You reached at exact fact point. Human replaced Dinosaurs today. After conquering this planet they do not take care of environment so they were terminated by the nature. If we do not take care of environment...can go Dinosaur's way..!!!
I think you are definitely right about this. Only exception for big cats is in the case where there are so few left that captive breeding programs help keep the species from going extinct (like in the case of the Amur leopard). Or if the animals seem content. Zoos are difficult, it is a question of wins (education and conservation) vs loss in animal welfare. I think it is undisputable that any zoo has a major responsibility to keep their animals happy - i.e. make sure they don't exhibit stereotypical behaviours such as pacing etc.
Yes Elsa, you are very right. I observed most of big cats in captivities very awkward and desperate to get free from cages from my childhood. They walk restlessly from one to another corner. I think Human damaged drastically all Big cat's fate with cruel business of hunting and poaching.
Good observation AshishNimkar. However, I've seen distressed cats in captivity previously, and this one just seemed more curious about his or hers surroundings more than anything else.
I feel that this cat is in very awkward position that time. Must be looking for safe place to sit in sunshine and trying to climb a tree.
