Description:

Jack-in-the-pulpit berry-like fruitlets turn from green to a bright red by August. Each fruitlet usually contains two 5mm seeds. Most are eaten by birds and small mammals.

Habitat:

Spotted at the Tamarac Visitor Center. This plant grows best in partial sun to full shade in moist woods. Jack-in-the-pulpit is found throughout Minnesota except in the southern part.

Notes:

Parts of the fresh green plant are toxic.
