Description:

The genus Junonia comprises about 33 species, of which 11 occur in the Oriental region, including 6 in the Indian subcontinent - lemonias, orithya, hierta, iphita, atlites and almana.

Junonia almana is distributed from India and Sri Lanka to the Philippines, and ranges south through the Malay archipelago to Sumatra, Borneo, Sulawesi and Java.

I actually thought these wild flowers look very beautiful... didnt know they could be a menace!!! but anyways I used to live in Melbourne and I know the ecology is pretty fragile and it has been invaded by a lot of foreign species... hence the stringent customs check at the airports!!!!
Beautiful butterfly and sitting on Spanish Flag or West Indian Lantana.. A bad weed here in Australia!
