Description:

Milkweed family, therefore a food source for the Monarch butterfly larvae. The picture is of the seedpod with spent flowers on the spidery stamens. The pod will burst open to release winged seeds at which point it will resemble the antlers of the antelope.

Habitat:

Prevelant in Central and South Texas
