Description:

Hickory nuts on a very old Hickory tree out in the woods.They will turn dark brown in the fall.

Habitat:

Out in the woods.

Notes:

People use nuts in the south to smoke their meats such as ham in a fire pit or smoker type device. Picture #3 is in the fall when the hickory nuts have become ripe.
