Field Notes

Description:

The water avens is part of the Rose family. In Norway it is a native wildflower. It is characterised by a brown-purple calyx and light orange (peach) coloured petals. It has a 'hairy' appearance and the flowers hand downwards which is why it is also called Nodding avens.
