Description:

One of the most common species in low, wet areas of the country. Its common name Zapaticos" Little shoe"comes from the flower, which have the lip very hard and leathery, and dry inflorescence looks has the shape of a shoe. Its flowers are extremely variable in relation to the size and coloration, are pollinated only by a particular bee in the genus Eulaema sp that inhabit the lowlands, reason why it is very rare to observe plants in greenhouses or nurseries with fruit.
