Description:

Sea squill is a bulb which sends up a tall stalk topped by an inflorescence of small white flowers, followed by a rosette of large dull green leaves, that last until the following summer. Drimia numidica once considered as a variety of Drimia maritima is now considered as different species with different distribution (North Africa, Spain, Italy and Balkans).

Habitat:

In the archeological site of ancient Nicopolis near Preveza, a modern coastal city.

Notes:

Synonyms: Uriginea numidica, Uriginea maritima var. numidica, Drimia maritima var. numidica, Charybdis numidica, Squilla numidica.
