You are right Juan. Thanks Richard. How was the Italian festival? I just got back from Italy myself. did not have luck eating good cooking though.
Hi Susan, since this bug has a thick beak is a predator and Milkweed bugs are herbivores, this is an Assassin bug (Reduviidae).
I just saw one of these at the Menil Collection near the Italian festival this weekend. Just about five miles from you spotting.
Difference in horns and chewing portion, legs shape and colour.
