Description:
Aka western marsh spider-lily or Texas spider-lily. It is usually found growing in ditches and along the edges of marshes, swamps, and ponds. It is distinguished by a prominent yellow-green eye in the center of the corona. the spider lily has a stem 1-3 feet high, with 2 or 3 blossoms at the top. The flower has 3 white sepals and 3 petals which are alike and unite to form a tube 2-4 inches long, narrow but spreading, and curving backward slightly as they age.
Habitat:
Spotted at the Bois D' Arc Creek Wildlife Area in Arkansas.
