Description:
Spanish moss is the hanging tan/grey/green stuff that hangs from the branches of these Southern Live Oaks and other tress.
Habitat:
Branches of Southern Live Oaks and other large tress. These pictures were Pebble Hill Plantation in Thomasville, GA.
Notes:
LIttle red bugs called Chiggers often live in the Spanish Moss. They bite humans and the bite looks different than a mosquito bite. Spanish Moss is used as a decorative dried plant often around the base of plants grown indoors in pots, but it's been sterilized of Chiggers.
