Description:

easily identifiable by it's large eye spots and orange parentheses markings.Prefers sunny areas with low vegetation.

Habitat:

Throughout the southeast and into mexico. Spotted in Cataula Ga. Common host plants for the eggs and caterpillars include: American bluehearts, Buchnera americana L. (Orobanchaceae); false foxglove, Agalinis spp. (Orobanchaceae); plantain, Plantago spp. (Plantaginaceae)
toadflax, Linaria spp. (Veronicaceae); turkey tangle fogfruit, Phyla nodiflora L. (Verbenaceae); twinflower, Dyschoriste spp. (Acanthaceae); yaupon blacksenna, Seymeria cassioides (J.F. Gmel.) S.F. Blake (Orobanchaceae)
