Rose of Sharon
Hibiscus syriacus
34.0232, -84.3616
Field Notes
Description:
I've known this plant as an Althea, a Hardy Hibiscus, and a Rose of Sharon.
Habitat:
These flowers bloom most of the summer and the leaves are deciduous. Each spring, the plant sends up lots of inch or two tall stems that have one or two leaves. If left alone, these will grow into a new plant.
