I spotted this yellow flower on a tree on the main highway running through Guyana.

Thanks Laurine, it does look a lot like Yellow Elder. Except the photos I see don't quite match the pattern on the inside of the bloom. I will do some more research. Thanks for the direction.
Reminds me of "Yellow Bells" although I've never seen it in tree form. Yellow Elder (Tecoma stans) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tecoma_stans.
I see what you're saying alice but it's not an orchid, it was a bloom of the tree.
If it was on a tree, maybe it is an Orchid. Or was it a bloom of the tree?
