Description:

We found this dragonfly in the water and saved it. My son had it on his hand during the wings dried in the sun.

Habitat:

Europe and Northwest Africa. Nearby slow moving rivers and lakes.

Thanks Taka. I think you are right. Now I have to find the rigth member of the family. Maybe there is a specialist outside at projectNOAH.
This not an Aeshna species, but a member of another family: Gomphidae (easy to see because they have their eyes separated). I do not know much about this dragonfly family, can not help you with further ID.
