other possibility could be Wolf spider. Wait for a few days and then we can ask some people who are specialist in this area. Definitely not a Black widow!
Looking back at the pic it doesn't seem like how I described it earlier but all the difference, I look forward to seeing what else all of us can share
Thanks this is something I knew I'd love before there even were "apps" like this! Thanks for the feedback. It's weird because the body (main part - abdomen?) was much more circular/round than most of the bigger house spiders. Actually this one wasn't Very big but looked more like a huge black widow w/out the 'hour glass' if this all makes sense ? Any color you see on it is from the bottom of a makeup drawer otherwise it is solid black
Chicago has so many species. Morton Arboretum might be a good place to take some pics! i really miss the museums of Chicago!! Live there for 20 years and feel that it has a lot to offer!! Enjoy Project Noah and Welcome to Project Noah!!
The pic is pretty good. Looks like a house spider to me.
Hi sorry I forgot to include that. I saw the spider in my bathroom drawer, we are in Chicago (NW Suburbs - Palatine)
Where did you spot this spider? Helps in species ID.
