Field Notes

Description:

Cold-blooded, the marine iguana needs to warm itself in the sun in order to get the energy to dive into the sea for sea weed. A cold iguana is normally black in colour and as it warms up, it's skin turns into hues of green, red and yellow.

Habitat:

Marine iguanas are only found in the Galapagos Islands where they live along the shores
