Turquoise Parrot

Don't be apologetic Steven, I've never seen either and just went with what I could find on the web. CataAna may need to do a bit more research.

Hate to say this but the parrot more closely resembles a red rumped parrot. Mainly due to the red rump and the lack of red on the upper wing coverts (which is present in male turquoise parrots).

Marta, they are "Grass parrots" or "Grass parakeets", which is the broad term for all Neophema parrots. The are closely related to Budgies, but as far as I know they are not particularly closely related to the Rosellas. In Tasmania, we have Neophema chrysogaster, the Orange-bellied Parrot, of which fewer than 50 survive in the wild.

Are these beauties related to Rosellas?
