Field Notes

Description:

These elk are part of a small herd that is kept at a local county park. The herd used to be at 8, but a year ago 4 died off (new article here: http://www.lemarssentinel.com/story/1909851.html) I'm not sure why they keep them, but they are very funny to feed and interact with, accept today, the bull decided to charge the fence.

Habitat:

These are kept in a large pen type area (Probably 15 acres or so) which is mostly grassland and a little wooded area.

Notes:

I'm not sure if elk are native to my part of Iowa, but these do fairly well here.

Hi LL - I have done a straightened version maybe you can see if it looks right. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/c4419jni5lf1tcx/uPfFtTMnTv
Ha !! Strong wind maybe? Judging by the grass growth and cloud layers I think you've put the horizon flat where it was actually a slight slope. He looks kind of cute like that though.
Hum, he is leaning isn't he. I wonder why that is.
