Description:

The looked like juniper trees. I do not know this variety. This is a tourist spot, so I'm sure someone knows this tree. It was all over, especially on the banks and sides of hills a little on the higher elevation than lower growing junipers closer to the water lines. The spiking branches covered in tight evergreen looking leaves/needles might also be a pine of some sort?

Habitat:

salty ocean air, higher elevation than the tight to the ground looking junipers

Notes:

This picture was taken at the donated lighthouse looking out toward Alcatraz Island.
