Description:

very small, about half an inch in diameter, light orange and white

Habitat:

they were growing on a small dead branch

Notes:

I spotted these while hiking in Fireman's Park on the edge of the city.

i am not too sure Dan but I think its an early stage of Daedaleopsis confragosa
