Description:

Up to 40' tall, sometimes shrubby.
1 1/4" nuts edible ripe oct-nov

Habitat:

Moist areas, streamsides in canyons, foothills, towns.

Central Valley, SF Bay area, S Ca. mtns to 3000'

Notes:

On the Sacramento River.

Also called the "Black Walnut, or Southern California Walnut"
