This spotting is almost a year ago and I don't recall very many details. But your ID suggestion is much appreciated.

Riodinidae, Metalmark. Tricky to get closer. Might be Nymphidium sp.

Certainly a sharp picture as you can see a lot of details. My Grandson is flying to Costa Rica this morning for 3 weeks. Hope he gets to see many interesting birds as well as lots of Wildlife.
