Description:

Oyster mushroom. This mushroom looks, smells, and tastes like oysters. No stalk. Usually grows in layers on dead wood like clusters of oysters. The white to smoky-gray caps are 2-8 inches wide. The white hairless gills become yellow-tinged with age. Grows throughout North America.

Habitat:

This cluster of oyster mushrooms were spotted growing on a dead log in the woods at our county park.
