Bee Assassin Bug

Judging from the red abdomen, I'd venture a guess that it's a wheel bug nymph, Arilus cristatus. I don't know any other assassin bug nymphs with that coloration. The picture's too blurry for me to be comfortable in asserting that that's what it actually is, however.
I don't think that is an ant. Probably some kind of hemipteran?
