Description:

This adult cicada is part of Brood XIX (also known as Brood 19 and The Great Southern Brood). Brood XIX is the largest (most widely distributed) brood of 13-year periodical cicadas and was last seen in 1998.

Habitat:

Open forest and prairie site near a lake.
