Here is similar mammal to this spotting http://www.care2.com/news/member/442150667/573656
I do not arguing anyway...also appreciate your knowledge. I am also checking Barbary sheep/goat species...what are matching. I just want to confirm exact species and this colour combination is at specific age like baby, young, adult stage of this mammal. Just collecting knowledge.
No worries my friend Its always easier to say " sorry i miss identified the species " since you are not an expert. You were very sure answering Mary "Mary..Its Arabian Tahr." just before one week ? And stop arguing pleas, i don't have time to keep replying you .
Maral I am not asserting that this is Arabian Tahr, find similar pictures on net search so marked. Colour combination and horn style. I am not a expert anyway. If you want to say it is Ammotragus lervia. I felt colour combination not matched..!!
Pick the color you want Mr.National Geographic expert http://www.google.ae/search?hl=ar&biw=1280&bih=694&gbv=2&tbm=isch&sa=1&q=barbary+sheep&oq=barbary+sheep&aq=f&aqi=g1&aql=&gs_sm=e&gs_upl=1055613l1059737l0l13l12l0l5l5l0l601l1691l5-3l3
I also suspect barbary goat..but the colour combination is not of Barbary Goat and horns.
Dear Ashish Tahr exist in three places in the world, Wadi Wurayah, Jabal Hafeet in UAE and Oman. UAE and Oman are located in the Arabian peninsula where the temperature is the highest around the world, now a days "summer time" temperature is more than 50c And FYI, the only place in the world where they have a captive breeding for this species is, Arabian wild life center in Sharjah where they manage to get 11 Tahr in the past 6 years as i remember. The goat in the photo up is the Barbary Sheep, the only wild wild goat species in Africa http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barbary_sheep And pleas Ashish, next time try to be sure before you identify a species, don't insist unless you are an expert because spreading wrong information around wont bring respect to you neither benefit to people. Thanks
I think this captivated less hair Tahr, shown is long haired in natural cold environmental.
Sorry to disappoint you my friend but this one is not the Arabian Tahr, check these links out; http://wwf.panda.org/what_we_do/successes/?163161/Arabian-Tahr-gets-royal-protection http://www.ens-newswire.com/ens/may2009/2009-05-01-02.html Aarbian Tahr males have short hair on their body and shorter horns. Its correct Alain zoo do have the Tahr but its not this one !
Mary..Its Arabian Tahr.
I think I withdraw my suggestion, haha. Although from what I understand, there are both Himalayan and Arabian Tahrs on display at that zoo, so I'm not entirely sure.
I am thankful you as I am testing all knowledge collected through National Geographic magazine collection...since 1986.
Thanks Ashish, appreciate your help to classify my photo collection :)
