Yes, most definitely a Rufous Hummingbird. Allen's doesn't even migrate through Colorado. I was born in Durango, wish I could go back.
Allen's typical appear on the Pacific coast only.
I could only ever tell the Rufous and the Allan's apart for certain by the displays of the male. The Rufous makes these spectacular "J" shaped dives where he flies straight up and then drops down in the shape of a J, at the tail end of the J he arcs back and forth a to the same hight a few times before starting the whole thing over. Very aggressive birds, both, and unwilling to share the feeder.
Nice photo - I would go with Allen's (sasin) ID due to green hue on the back?
Beautiful!! I love hummingbirds. even though they are pollinators themselves they do end up eating bees though!
