Description:

Rust colored, hairy catepillar. Note the body segmentation. Tufts of hair extend out in front of eyes.

Habitat:

Alpine valley in high montane biome of the Sierra Nevada mountains.

Notes:

3 of 3 caterpillars observed crossing the hiking path.
