Field Notes

Description:

Large black caterpillar - approx 2.5" - segmented - pale orange spots arranged in a triangular pattern on the lateral portion of each segment. Single tail horn. Hairless. Orange collar on the nape of neck with black "eye" spot.

Habitat:

Scrub pine & grass at 3200' AMSL - on granite boulder
