Description:

For the past week I have been getting closer and closer to some hummingbirds feeding off the banana plant in front of my house. Today I stood about 3 feet from the flower and waiting and sure enough it came by for a visit. Sony 56 flash used with the Sony 100 2.8 macro

I actually ID'd this hummingbird using Stokes Field Guide to North American Birds. This photo looks like the same coloration in the book's photo of an adult male from Arizona in May. I looked at the map in the book, and it cover the exact area in Mexico that this picture was taken from June.
