Western Scrub Jay

Aphelocoma californica

Thanks Sachin and Adarsha, They sound like parrots and are equally noisy. One of the most intelligent birds. You should see it trying to break a nut. The blue jay protects the quail baby from the crow and the crow from the hawk. All these acts of kindness end up in eating the quail baby. One day you see ten babies running around and then 9,8,7,6 and you know what these kind rascals have been up to.
