Field Notes

Description:

a common bird in Sri Lanka , and a common visitor to home gardens , poking through the ground looking for worms and other edibles ; usually accompanied by several other bird species. It is a noisy bird, continualy chattering, squeaking and chirping.

Habitat:

found in the lowlands and hills up to about 1500m.

Notes:

Non migratory and a common resident breeding bird in Sri Lanka.
