Description:

I think this is a hover fly... An excellent wasp-mimic, not only the colouration but also the flight pattern resembled that of a wasp.

Habitat:

Found in 'El Cimatario' national park, just outside of Querétaro. The area is semi-arid, with lots of acacia and cacti
