Description:

Up to 40mm wide these brown shell-like fungi had appeared fairly quickly on a fallen tree in the local national park. The underneath revealed charcoal grey pores. Tree species a mystery - looked somewhat like an imported birch.

Habitat:

Local national park rain forest.

Notes:

Dark grey pores should be distinctive. Yet to search...
