Field Notes

Description:

I took a video on my camera and then took a few shots from the video. This was the Shedd Aquarium, Chicago, IL. It was a nice Aquarium.

Habitat:

are a group of aquatic, flightless birds living almost exclusively in the southern hemisphere, especially in Antarctica. Highly adapted for life in the water, penguins have countershaded dark and white plumage, and their wings have become flippers. Most penguins feed on krill, fish, squid, and other forms of sealife caught while swimming underwater. They spend about half of their lives on land and half in the oceans.
Although all penguin species are native to the southern hemisphere, they are not found only in cold climates, such as Antarctica. In fact, only a few species of penguin live so far south. Several species are found in the temperate zone, and one species, the Galápagos Penguin, lives near the equator.

The Galápagos Penguin, lives near the equator and they survive there because they keep cool by swimming and hunting for food in the cold water of the Cromwell Current during the day. During the cool nights they sleep and nest on the land.
Too late to answer. Guess you know now :D
...people too. It seems so many different kinds of people are on here from all over the world. It's interesting. What is your little hat and tree patch for?
Nope...the Wikipedia has a hard time matching pictures with words...it's mostly words and a lot of empty or partially written stubs. Pictures are weak for Wiki. This site is more my favorite for pictures & names.
Sure it is, but it doesn't come in as nice a package, does it? :)
Never knew penguins lived close to the equator. TY for your notes and pictures.
