Upon further research, I now think its a type of Crinum http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crinum
Jonathan, I don't think the flowers match with Cochliostema. I think its some type of spider lily, maybe Hymenocalis.
Commelinaceae, Plant of epiphytic habit, but also grows well in soil.
