Species ID Suggestions

Iridescent Jumping Spider

Cosmophasis sp.

Comments (6)

This spider looks like Cosmophasis micans, but as I am sure you know, C. micans is not present in the Philippines. I am pretty sure it is only in Australia. I read your earlier comment that it might be Cosmophasis estrellaensis and that is, indeed a possibility, but I have never seen a photo of that one anywhere on the internet.
I thought Cosmophasis only show their bright light under light. This one looks like a Cosmophasis umbratica but something about it's pattern and colors isn't right. It does show the pinkish abdomen tip that I usually see from Cosmophasis umbratica though.
Yeah, I've read about those spiders that mimick ants. I'll just wait for your ID suggestion. Thanks for helping! :)
I'm not sure about that coz Cosmophasis Sp. Generally have bright colors on the back, at least the ones I've seen had.. Moreover this species somewhat mimicks ants.. But no worries, I'll let you know if I get to know anything.. :-)
Thanks, Raiyan. Could it possibly be Cosmophasis estrellaensis? :D
