Julia Skimmer - Orthetrum Julia? Very similar to the pondhawk except it fits your range. I ws able to find these to other pics to reference against but not much else. It does look like a pondhawk but again, the range doesn't seem to match. Maybe a related African species?
Looks very much like a pondhawk--Erythemis simplicicollis; I don't see where Ghana is in its range, but...
Ashish, I appreciate your suggestion but I'm not sure. The Green Darner female is much more colorful than this one and isn't native to this area.
